Animation studio DLE Inc. announced on Friday that it will produce a new TV anime based on Idea Factory and Design Factory‘s otome game franchise Hakuōki titled Hakuōki ~Otogisōshi~ (Hakuōki ~Fairy-tail Book~). The series of anime shorts will feature the characters from the Hakuōki games in chibi form, and will feature a completely new story with the theme “A normal every day that might have existed.”

Well, I will obviously watch it, but I’m not particularly happy about it even if it’s probably just random fun stuff. XD These shorts are not supposed to be anything more than an extra to begin with, but Hakuouki has been getting TOO MANY extras for my liking. It just makes people get tired of it overall.

[First impressions] Hakuouki SSL: Sweet School Life [Episode 1]

Before you actually yelp in surprise and be like “Holy shit! Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan in drama version!! I must watch.!” hold your horses and let me get this straight. It is not. ( ̄ω ̄)

Summary: The fluttering Sakura. Spring – a season of blessing for new encounters. Chizuru Yukimura knocks on the gates of a private academy, which has always been a boys’ school. However, as of this year, Hakuou Academy opens its gates to co-education and Chizuru is the only female student enrolled. Thus begins her first year.

Despite English subs being not yet available for this show (and I really hope somebody is going to pick it up eventually, even though I know Japanese doramas don’t always get translated or they get dropped after a while, sadly) and I must recognize I did not 100% understand everything that was going on, I still decided to cover at least my impressions on the first episode for those that are interested in the drama, but got discouraged. I don’t usually do recaps, but I will do a rough one this time for you.

[NEWS] Hakuoki PS Vita Remake’s Opening Movie Streamed

Idea Factory‘s Hakuōki Shinkai: Kaze no Shō PS Vita game remakes the original Hakuōki Shinsengumi Kitan 2008 PlayStation 2 game. The game has since been ported into the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS platforms. Aksys Games localized and released the game’s PlayStation 3 version in May.

Idea Factory will release the game on PlayStation Vita on September 25. Sony will release special collaboration models of the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation TV featuring Hakuōki designs alongside the game’s September 25 release.

I wish they would stop milking the Hakuouki series already. XD I feel like it’s being too much and I don’t really think it needed a remake either.

PS: The SSL dorama also started airing this week!

[NEWS] “Hakuouki SSL” otome game to be adapted to a live action drama

MDL Summary: The fluttering Sakura. Spring – a season of blessing for new encounters. Chizuru Yukimura knocks on the gates of a private academy, which has always been a boys’ school. However, as of this year, Hakuou Academy opens its gates to co-education and Chizuru is the only female student enrolled. Thus begins her first year.

The release date is set for 24th of September. I really wonder why they decided to adapt the highschool version instead of what Hakuouki is really famous for. Easier and cheaper I guess…? I just know I will laugh at this so much. x’D
What do you, peeps, think about this adaption? Will you try watching it ?

[REVIEW] Hakuouki – Demon of The Fleeting Blossom [PSP]

Photobucket

I’ll start by saying that it was pure hell to get my hands on a copy of this because of the time needed for Hakuouki to actually get imported and I don’t even want to mention how expensive the shipping fees were, but oh well, this game deserves it all, also for being one of the rare otome game/visual novels completely translated to English and the first OFFICIAL otome game exported to North America. It was released by Aksys Games, so God bless them for trying to bring otome games outside Asia. If you enjoy this series, please support Aksys Games and creators and BUY THE GAME. If request from the public is high we might just get ourselves other Japanese->English otomes (Aksys have already been very open to the western player’s opinions about what could work outside Asia). SO GO BUY NOW!
